  • Sep 12, 2021: “Skied here several times over the years but it was time to try the bike park! We had done the hiking package where you get to see Boo the grizzly and lunch at the eagle eye restaurant but that was years ago and still is offered as a package! Although that was an amazing experience we chose the bike park this time! We loaded up the bikes onto the gondola and ripped all day long up there!! Definitely a little rougher than SilverStar but so much fun!! We hit up every blue and black run before calling it quits when heavy rain came in later that afternoon!! If you ride bikes then put this place on your to do list!!” 0
  • Sep 6, 2021: “This review is only regarding the Palliser Lodge which is part of the overall resort but it requires a clean up and update. My review is as follows: It was obvious that the hotel is short staffed, we hope they can rectify that soon, however many of the problems are not staff related. Sadly, we were all disappointed with the overall appearance of our rooms, although the exterior is very nice and inviting. The view overlooking the mountains and valley were spectacular from our room, but the other members of our party were placed in a room across the hall from us and overlooked the grassy “hill” with no view at all! We paid the same price, so you can imagine their disappointment. This should be outlined on their website and should NOT be the same rate. We requested that the party who was put on that side of the hotel be moved to the same side as us, but the front desk would not accommodate our request because the place was at 100% capacity (maybe due to Covid???). It appeared there were many empty rooms. We had requested that they be beside us or even in an adjoining room. Everything needs to be updated in the Palliser Lodge. All of the finishes in the rooms have seen better days - including the plastic pull up corded blinds which covered the windows. Even the cutlery in the cupboard was dirty - that is a health and safety issue, which made us second guess everything else in our rooms. One of our bathroom towels was literally shredding in about 6 places, this does not give the resort a very good impression for guests. We did reach out to the 3rd party agency that we booked through (which I did not realize I was doing at the time of booking). Their response was: “It is disappointing to hear we did not meet your expectations. We do try our best to accommodate special request but are not always able to accommodate due to occupancy rates. As each owner in Palliser Lodge can choose to rent out their unit or not it may seem as if rooms are empty when in fact our available rental pool rooms are sold out. I do apologize we were not able to accommodate your request.” Our overall rating would be 2.5 - 3 star. We cannot comment on the main lodge (Glacier) as we did not see any of those rooms.” 1

(I'm not sure when the gondolas are cleaned but our gondola going up seemed clean but not when coming down.) Hiking - I was nervous to even do the easy hikes but they were fine! Note that there is a gradual trail that leads to the Terminator Ridge (read the route description); many people were accessing it from a very steep path (downhill, loose rocks) but there is an easier path. If you are not hiking, there are benches and picnic tables with nice views. You can also walk behind the restaurant to see the view there. Via Ferrata - I was too scared to do the Via Ferrata but my husband said I would have been fine. He and some relatives took the 3-hour tour and felt very safe rock climbing, never needed to unhook/rehook their harnesses. The guide even took photos and provided the digital photos at no extra cost. It seems the path was well planned, avoiding the winds. The rock was slightly slippery where it was wet but they felt safe. Gloves were also provided. They recommend it! Restaurant - We were able to get a table without reservation (they do recommend reservations, low staffing level). It was nice inside and the service was great. The food was good. Bear viewing – We did not do this but found out that the Catamount Chairlift goes part-way up the mountain. Both the chairlift and gondola start at the same area. For an extra $5, you can purchase the Adventure Pass, to ride both the gondola and chairlift, and have a 1 hour tour at the bear refuge (the tours are scheduled almost every hour). There is also the option to purchase a ticket to only go up to the bear refuge and not take the gondola. (But the views at the top of the gondola should not be missed!) There is no hiking around the bear refuge area but you can hike down the mountain (and play disc golf) as an alternative to the chairlift. Kicking Hores vs. other attraction - If you only have time to do one attraction, I would recommend this gondola over the suspension bridge. Much better views, not confined to certain viewing areas, and not crowded.” 2
